Feb. 6, 2008 Hi, starting from the beginning is not as easy as it sounds. After I graduated high school, Laverne McKinley, Nancy Windom and I moved to Corpus Christi and attended a cosmetology school, completed our course, each of us going our own way, and begin work in a beauty shop. Dale McFarland and I married on May 1, 1964 and lived in Corpus Christi for about a year. Dale went to work for Texaco and we moved to Escobas, Texas to live in a Texaco camp. You can't imagine the surprise the first time I saw the camp. It was 35 miles from Hebbronville and 25 miles from Zapata. Out in the middle of nowhere!!! Dust, cactus and rattlesnakes, OH,MY !! Our post office was a store,gas station and beer joint all rolled into one. We had a lot of fun, making friends we kept for a lifetime.
